We announce that the next Fototertúlia will take place next Monday, July 1, at 6:30 p.m. in Pati Llimona. On this occasion, the session will be led by Robert Porta i Roigé, archivist and director of the Documentation Center that preserves the personal archive of the photographer and collector Josep Maria Gavín i Barceló, creator of the photographic inventory of churches in Catalonia, a great project of registration and photographic documentation. It has the title “THE GAVÍN ARCHIVE. A TREASURE AT THE LES AVELLANES MONASTERY”.

The Gavín Archive is kept at the Documentation Center for Popular and Religious Culture of Catalonia. Its director, Robert Porta i Roigé, will explain the contents of the archive, which has a considerable volume of photographs, most of which make up the emblematic photographic inventory of churches in Catalonia. All this documentation collected in numerous scientific excursions and gathered at the initiative of the photographer and collector Josep Maria Gavín i Barceló (Barcelona, ​​June 21, 1930-Caldes de Montbui, April 28, 2023).

In this photoTalk, he will tell us about his origin, his history, and all the tasks carried out and in process linked to his photographic background.
