This year, the ceremony of the Fotoconnexió Awards 2023 took place in the large hall of the Pati Llimona Civic Centre..

 

Among the different proposals we have received to nominate candidates for the Fotoconnexió Awards 2023 this year, 9 mentions have been received for the Trajectory Award, 13 for the Initiative of the Year Award and 6 for the Fotoconnectat/da Award. Based on the matching proposals, the finalists are::

    • TRAJECTORY Award
      • Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya: For its hundred-year trajectory during which it has been at the service of photography in Catalonia through the voluntarism and knowledge of its members. It has been able to reinvent and fight, in a technologically different world than the one it was born in, to welcome, defend and spread the values ​​and practice of photography in all its transversality. In commemoration of its centenary they have generated a set of 8 photographic exhibitions and the publication of the book “Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya 1923-2023”..
      • Laura Terré Alonso: For her extensive career as a photography historian, exhibition curator and teacher. Her research around the generation of Spanish photographers who formed the AFAL Group during the 1950s, the writing of monographs on Colita, Ramon Masats, Carlos Pérez Siquier or Paco Gómez, should be highlighted. As well as numerous articles in the press and in specialized magazines, and the curation of exhibitions on Català Roca, Xavier Miserachs, the AFAL Group, Ricard Terré or Gabriel Cualladó.
      • Museu del Cinema. Col·lecció Tomàs Mallol: Since its inception it has collaborated with the Municipal Archive and the CDRI, with dissemination activities and guided tours, an educational task in the field of education and being a private collection that has created a public center for the dissemination of cinema and photography. It has co-organized and hosted the International Seminar on the antecedents and origins of cinema, which is held annually. This year on its 25th anniversary, its agenda has multiplied and there have been thematic visits as well as the dissemination through social networks of films by Tomàs Mallol of high historical value..

      • Exhibitions “Mey Rahola (1897-1959). The new photographer” i “Mey Rahola. Desire for horizons”: Based on the 12-year research around the photographer May Rahola de Falgàs, carried out by Roser Martínez and Lluís Bertran, two exhibitions curated by both researchers and presented simultaneously at the Museum of the Empordà and the National Art Museum of Catalonia, where Roser Cambray has also collaborated as a curator. It is worth noting the study in collaboration with the family, the multiple guided tours and the success achieved in spreading the background of the photographer, giving her the place she deserves in the history of photography.

      • David González Ruiz: Being one of the oldest members of Fotoconnexió, always ready to collaborate and taking advantage of the minimal opportunity that his prolific professional activity offers him to echo our association. On several occasions he has offered to collaborate in events such as the Fototertúlia “Photographers from Sabadell at the beginning of the 20th century: Maria Codina and Anita Figueras”.
      • Victoria Bonet Carbonell: She is one of the early members of Fotoconnexió, and in recent years she has collaborated very actively in bringing us closer to the exhibitions and events celebrated on the occasion of the centenary of the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya, such as the exhibition “ENFOCADES! The female presence in the Photographic Group of Catalonia (1923-1970)”. She also presented us with her doctoral thesis “Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya (1923-1970)”. He also presented his doctoral thesis “Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya: Origins and consolidation (1923-1937)” in a Fototertúlia..
      • Jep Martí Baiget: He has been part of the association since the beginning and is the author of the database that feeds the Clifford directory, from which he is in constant collaboration with the Fotoconnexió board.
